Power still out, we’re OK

Power OutageNina, Jeff, Pankaj, Philip and I went to Oaktree Cinemas tonight to watch “Casino Royale” for our holiday party — in an effort to go ahead on schedule during our emergency situation. The power is out in about 40% of Seattle right now, according to Seattle City Light and may be out until Sunday in about 50k homes. I haven’t gone back to may place yet, so I’m not sure if I’m one of the lucky “pocket outages” that are out til’ Sunday.

But I’m thankful that I have a warm and safe place to be during the day, and that Bertie can hang out at the Vet until tomorrow afternoon. Jordan and Kate also have power, so we have another place to go if it’s a cold and lightless weekend.

Thankfully we’re not on the Eastside, which apparently is like a warzone with 80% of the folks without power and trees are toppled everywhere. My workmate Tim had a tree come through 2 floors of his apartment building last night. Luckily no one was hurt. One thing is for certain, there will be many good stories to come out of this weekend’s little storm.
