I survived on popcorn, soda and pizza through high school (that was, until my mom found out and started making ham sandwiches for me). But I was lucky and had a solid breakfast and dinner every day. What about the kids who don’t have good eating role models at home? Seems like they’ll be doomed to become type 2 diabetic, overfed and undernourished. That’s what Parents Against Junk Food are trying to fix. In the richest country in the world, why can’t we feed kids better than “Malk” and sloppy joes?

Ya, Ed:
I just remember you becoming a vegetarian somewhere around the time you became a Buddhist…surprise to me on your college app. Anyway, someone in college suggested that it wasn’t so bad to eat a hamburger now and then and I think that was your re-conversion to a Christian carnivore. (did you really eat those ham sandwiches?)
I loved those ham sandwiches! I’m actually buying ham instead of turkey these days at Costco just to “bring me back”.
