Seven Up, the documentary series that chronicles the lives of 14 English schoolchildren every seven years of their lives. Kei and I have been watching this for the last week or so and it is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen. Each child originally picked for the series for the class or section of English society they represented have lived out unusual twists and turns in their lives as all of us have. Though some have lived out the predictable patterns espoused by the socialist intent of the original film, posh prep school children checking off their laundry list of schools and careers rattled off at age 7, many have not and that’s what makes the subjects interesting. They are human, and interviewed as human and not token people. I recommend it.
